She has been Visiting Professor at the Asia-Europe Institute, University of Malaya, and Visiting Scholar at the Centre of International Studies, University of Cambridge.

As President of the European Centre of Excellence Jean Monnet-Luigi Einaudi, she has been the Co-ordinator of international and interdisciplinary research programmes on “European identity at the end of the XX Century” and on “Trans-Mediterranean relations at the time being”.

She is member of the Council and of the Scientific Committee of the “Fondation Jean Monnet pour l’Europe” of Lausanne and member of the board of editors of the collection “Studies on the History of European Integration” of Franz Steiner Verlag (Stuttgart).

Founder member and Secretary general of the Oral History Society (1982-1992), Editor of “Rivista di Studi Politici Internazionali” (rspi- nuova serie) since 2006.
